123ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿੱਢੇ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਪਟਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਾਂਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਸਹਿਕਾਰੀ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਸਭਾ ਬੇਗਮਪੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਅਪਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਸਭਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਲੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਬੇਗਮਪੁਰ, ਜਾਫ਼ਰਪੁਰ, ਹੁਸੈਨ ਚੱਕ, ਸਲੋਹ, ਹਿਆਲਾ ਤੇ ਕਰਿਆਮ ’ਚ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਰਵਾਇਤ ਲਗਪਗ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਪੁੱਜ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਸਭਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਇਸ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਸਭਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਸਕੱਤਰ ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਨਵੰਬਰ 2013 ’ਚ ਤਤਕਾਲੀ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਅਨਿੰਦਿਤਾ ਮਿਤਰਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ’ਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਲਰ ਦੇ ਤਜਰਬੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।  ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਸਹਿਕਾਰੀ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਸਭਾ ਬੇਗਮਪੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਦਮੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਬੇਲਰ ਤੇ ਰੇਕਰ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਹਾਮੀ ਭਰੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਲੰਗੜੋਆ ਵਿਖੇ ਤਤਕਾਲੀ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ’ਚ 25 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਸ਼ੀਨ ਦਾ ਟ੍ਰਾਇਲ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਬੇਲਰ ਮਸ਼ੀਨ ਆਲੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ’ਚ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

ਆਪਣੀ ਇਸ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਦਮੀ ਸਦਕਾ ਇਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੀ.ਏ.ਯੂ. ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਹਿਕਾਰਤਾ ਸਪਤਾਹ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਹਿੰਦਰਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਹਿਕਾਰੀ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਸਭਾ ਬੇਗਮਪੁਰ ਦੀ ਬੇਲਰ ਮਸ਼ੀਨ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ’ਚ ਝੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਸਾੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣ ’ਚ ਝੰਡਾਬਰਦਾਰ ਬਣੀ ।

ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਸ ਮੌਕੇ 13.10 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਮਸ਼ੀਨ ’ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਪਾਸੋਂ 40 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਸਬਸਿਡੀ ਵੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਸ਼ੀਨ ਤੋਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੁਨਾਫ਼ਾ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਢਾਈ ਲੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਸਾਲ ਸਾਢੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਲੱਖ ’ਤੇ ਪੁੱਜ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਮਸ਼ੀਨ ’ਤੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਲਾਗਤ ਮੁੱਲ ਵੀ ਮੁੜ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 12000 ਤੋਂ 14000 ਕੁਇੰਟਲ ਝੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਤੇ ਗੰਨੇ ਦੀ ਖੋਰੀ, ਮਸ਼ੀਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਾਇਓ ਮਾਸ ਪਲਾਂਟ ਬਿੰਜੋ (ਗੜ੍ਹਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਨੇੜੇ) ਭੇਜੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। 

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਬੇਲਰ ਮਸ਼ੀਨ ਆਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਆਮਦਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉੱਥੇ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 22 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਲਰ ਅਪਰੇਟਰ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਠਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ 5 ਟ੍ਰੈਕਟਰ-ਟ੍ਰਾਲੀ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 35 ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਕੁਇੰਟਲ ਦੇ ਢੋਆ-ਢੁਆਈ ਰੇਟ ’ਤੇ ਇਸ ਕਿੱਤੇ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 550 ਤੋਂ 630 ਏਕੜ ਝੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਤੇ 100 ਏਕੜ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਗੰਨੇ ਦੀ ਖੋਰੀ ਬਿੰਜੋ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੰਧਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਜਗਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਚਾਰ ਬੇਲਰ ਮਸ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਫ਼ਰਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਦੀਪ ਤੇ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਬੇਲਰ ਮਸ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਲੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਪਲੀਤ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ’ਚ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

ਸਹਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਭਾ ਬੇਗਮਪੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਸੜਨੋ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਖੇਤ ’ਚ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ 9 ਹੋਰ ਸੰਦ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਰੋਟਾਵੇਟਰ, ਐਮ. ਬੀ. ਪਲਾਓ (ਉਲਟਾਵਾਂ ਹਲ), ਮਲਚਰ, ਹੈਪੀ ਸੀਡਰ, ਕਟਰ ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ, ਵੀ ਲਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਗਤ ਮੁੱਲ 8 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ’ਤੇ 80 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਦੀ ਸਬਸਿਡੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਿਲਣੀ ਹੈ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤਹਿਤ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਸਾੜੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਮਸ਼ੀਨੀਕਰਣ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਵਧੀਆ ਯਤਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਪਲੀਤ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੇਗਾ ਉੱਥੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦਾ ਉਪਜਾਊਪਣ ਵੀ ਵਧੇਗਾ।

ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਨਾ ਸਾੜਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਗਾਇਕ ਵਿੱਕੀ ਮਹਿੰਦੀਪੁਰ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ’ਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗੀਤ ‘ਸਾਰੇ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਕਸਮਾਂ ਖਾਈਏ, ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਾੜ ਨਾ ਸਾੜਾਂਗੇ’ ਵੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਧਿਅਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਾਲੀ ਸਾੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।

Strengthening infrastructure and inclusive progress of the people

For the progress and prosperity of the state, Punjab government has taken various initiatives to strengthen the infrastructure and provide inclusive growth to the people of the state. Punjab government has emphasised that in the coming months the state will witness inclusive development on a massive scale as the government has chalked out its agenda to develop the state socially and economically.

Punjab government’s ‘Progressive Punjab Investor Summit-2015’ which was held recently at ISB Mohali was a grand success, investors from across the globe had shown tremendous interest in making investments in the state which would result in strengthening the infrastructure as well as ensuring job avenues for 2.5 lakh youth. The state government has announced a slew of tax exemptions for the food processing sector and investments made in this sector would benefit the state’s farmers too. Setting up of IT hub in Mohali will provide great job opportunities to the youth of the state who move out in order to find suitable jobs. The state government has also tied up with various companies to setup skill training centres, the government is focused to train the youth and make them skilled, so that where ever they go they can easily find jobs. With such initiatives Punjab will soon become the most skilled state of the nation.

Punjab is the only state where every village, town and city is connected through a brilliant road network. The state is focused on broadening the road network from 4 to 6 lanes and will provide best connectivity to the citizens of the state in terms of road, air and rail.

Punjab government is inviting farmers to generate power from non-conventional energy resources; the state government is encouraging farmers to generate power from residue of crops besides devoting special attention to commissioning new biomass based plants. Solar plants are one of the major sources of production of clean and green electricity, farmers of the state and various companies has shown keen interest in setting up solar plants in the state which will benefit the progress of the state and its citizens to a great extent.

Punjab government would release funds constituency wise in the rural and urban areas to carry out developmental works like – roads, clean drinking water, lights, sewerage etc. The state government will soon advertise a total of 1 lakh jobs in keeping with its policy of providing employment to youth of the state.

New cashless insurance scheme for Punjab government employees and pensioners

Punjab government has declared that the cashless health insurance scheme will now be known as Punjab government employees and pensioner health insurance scheme (PGEPHIS), which will cover all indoor medical treatment expenses, specified day care procedure and treatment of chronic diseases as specified by the government, this scheme will be applicable to all government employees (whether covered under old or new pension scheme) and pensioners on compulsory basis.

The state government said that PGEPHIS will cover all the entitlement as specified under the state services rule 1940, this scheme will insure cashless all in door medical treatment, pre or post hospitalisation as defined, day care procedure requiring less than 24 hours hospitalisation and OPD medical expenses relating to chronic disease up to a sum of Rs. 3 lakh per family per year on floater basis. Medicines for chronic diseases are also available on cashless basis from designated stores and hospitals in every district and block. All pre existing disease will be also covered.

Punjab government said that the treatment can be availed by any enrolled beneficiary in government or empanelled hospitals of Punjab, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi. The state government said that no reimbursement will be available to employee/pensioner in the Punjab, Chandigarh and Panchkula region where cashless treatment is available. However, employee/pensioner can claim reimbursement for medical treatment taken in any other state in India in exceptional circumstances; the insurance company will reimburse the bill of employee up to 3 lakh as per the package rate defined under the scheme.

Since the cashless medical treatment is made available to employee/pensioners through insurance company, there are certain treatments which are not covered under health insurance as per the insurance regulatory and development authority of India (IRDA). Details of such exclusions are available in the scheme uploaded on website of the health department of Punjab www.pbhealth.gov.in. The reimbursement of such exclusion will be made available to employee/pensioners as per existing policy and states service rule 1940 as amended from time to time. The state government also said that any treatment taken abroad will not be covered under this scheme; any public servant/pensioner before going abroad may take overseas insurance cover, premium of such insurance cover will be borne by employee/pensioner. If any public servant is going on government tour, premium of such overseas insurance will be borne by the employee pensioner.

The State Government has selected oriental insurance company through tendering .The insurance company will make buffer of Rs. 25 crore for meeting out expenses over and above Rs. 3 lakh and cashless insurance to any employee/pensioner will be available beyond Rs. 3 lakh, subject to the availability of the buffer.

Punjab government stated that the enrollment under this scheme will start from immediate effect and will be completed by 31 December 2015. The employees/pensioner will be entitled for fixed medical allowance as per the existing pattern to cover the routine OPD expenditure. Any employee/pensioner can take any kind of information related to as Punjab Government Employees and Pensioner Health Insurance Scheme (PGEPHIS) and can also register their complaint at medical helpline number 104.

Another food park will be setup at at Ladhowal, Ludhiana on 100 acres of land by the Punjab Govt. through PAIC in accordance with the guidelines of Ministry of Food Processing Industries, GOI. This facility will provide provide modern infrastructure facilities for food processing along the value chain from farm to market. A Mega Food Park at Fazilka is a a multi-dimensional food processing infrastructure facility. Spread over 56 acres of land at Dabwala Kalan, this park is close to highway and is operated by International Mega Food Park Ltd (IMFPL).

Investors can visit the PBIP website (www.investpunjab.gov.in/) and can create a login identification and password which will help them in tracking the online applications and approvals within the fixed time lines. PBIP has facilitated the prospective investors by online application submission with a single centralized application form and online gateways for payment of application/ service fee.

Investors can now do self attestation of documents, so the hassle of getting it attested from different government officials has been removed. The state government has removed the process of redundant clearance, inspections and certifications and has allowed third party certifications by professionals. Punjab government has also set a standardized mechanism for grievance redressal where the prospective investor can submit their grievance at info@investpunjab.gov.in and action will be taken within 15 days.

From the moment the investor applies through common application form, the bureau keeps the investor in loop regarding various project initiating stages or in case any further information or documents are required. A full transparent method is used where the investor is informed about every single detail.

The PBIP serves as a single point of contact for giving all regulatory clearances and applicable fiscal incentives and assist the investor in setting up the project.

Abundant Power at Competitive Prices

Punjab is among the top states of the country which has seen major developments in past few years. The state has achieved a level which was unimaginable at one point of time. Amongst other, one of the major developments is making Punjab a power surplus state. The state government has taken major steps to ensure quality power to industrial and domestic users at competitive prices. Significant strides have been taken by the state to increase the power production including development of three new power plants.

punjab electrictyPioneer in developing a state-level 400 KV Ring Main System to improve power quality and its supply, Punjab has invested over ₹ 4,400 crore (US$ 730 mn) in the last three years to build up the transmission and distribution systems. State has focused largely on production of solar power making it a huge phenomenon. An investment of ₹ 800 cr (US$ 133 mn) has been made during 2014-15 for allocation of a 100 MW capacity grid connected power project. In 2012-13, the State allocated projects for generation of 250 MW of grid connected solar power plants.

In addition, Bio Mass Projects are being developed by the state. During the current year, 300 MW capacity biomass power projects with an average plant capacity of 10 MW each will be allocated. Estimated investment of ₹ 1,000 cr (US$ 167 mn) has been made for bio mass projects. Punjab has abundant supply of paddy straw available which is used along with other fuel technologies to produce power.

Further, Punjab will soon see a new 85 MW capacity mini-hydro power projects on Upper Bari Doab Canal (UBDC) system and its branch canals. The plant is expected to generate 5-15 MW of capacity individually. It shall be developed using an estimated investment of ₹ 1,000 cr (US$ 167 mn). The government is also giving a major push to Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic Power Projects. Over 100,000 square meters of area is available on government buildings for the purpose.

With such huge projects undertaken by the government, the power surplus state of Punjab is now seen as an ideal destination for business and industry. Accompanied by state-of-the-art infrastructure, the state will soon be a torch bearer for rest of the states in the nation.

One Institution, One Block

India being one of the youngest nations in the world with more than 65% of its population below the age of 35, still it today is facing major problems of unemployment and poverty. Only 3% population of the country is skilled as compared to the advanced countries where more than 90% of their population are highly skilled. In order to resolve this crisis, the need of the hour is to impart skill training to the youth of the nation.

Punjab government has taken the initiative and decided to move forward with the slogan ‘one institution, one block’ for imparting skill training to the youth across the state, Punjab government stated that there is a need of cooperation between the state government and private educational institutions to make the state as a pool of skilled manpower across the country. Skill training is the only mantra for poverty alleviation in the Country; this could open new avenues of employment for the youth. To make this possible, state government will support every educational institution to adopt an administrative block in the state to impart skill training to the youth.

Realising the vast potential of skill training in the state, the state government has already taken a slew of measures to promote it in a big way. In line with the national skill development policy, the state has set up an empowered state skill development mission to bring synergy, scale and effective oversight in the implementation of various skill development initiatives in the State. The state government will establish 2,000 skill centres to impart training to one lakh youth at a cost of Rs 300 crore.

The state government has already chalked out a detailed action program to provide the best skill training to the unemployed youth as well as up-skilling them in specific fields like healthcare & paramedics, driving & automotive, animal husbandry & allied farming and construction activity. The state technical education & industrial training department would rope in the world class skill development agencies for this purpose; three skill development centres are being established in the government medical colleges of Patiala, Amritsar and Faridkot to impart training in healthcare and paramedics.

gadvasuThe state government has decided to set up five multi-skill development centres (MSDCs) at Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur and Patiala with an aim to offer new skill training courses in light engineering, hand tools, garment & fashion technology and welding and so on to the youth in accordance with the felt needs of the local industry. Youth would also be imparted with training in specially designed courses related to activities in the field of animal husbandry and allied farming such as dairying, piggery, bee keeping, fishery, floriculture and horticulture etc. in the Punjab agriculture university (PAU) and Guru Arjan Dev veterinary and animal science university (GADVASU), Ludhiana with a focused approach to promote the much needed program of agriculture diversification in a big way.

Requesting the support of the private educational institutions for promotion of the skill education in the state, the state government would extend fulsome support and cooperation to them for this noble cause and will also have detailed discussions with the private educational institutes to turn skill development program as a ‘mass revolution’, so that Punjab would emerge as the top state in the country with skilled manpower.

SAS Nagar to become Punjab’s showcase city

Sahibzada Ajit Singh nagar (SAS nagar) is Punjab’s well planned city, which is designed and developed into identical sectors and phases. Today the city has become a major hub of residential and commercial coexistence. Major IT and service oriented companies have found it as the most suitable place for work.

 Punjab government has decided to develop SAS nagar as Punjab’s showcase city. Major plans are in implementation for the overall development of the city. The state government has already started works amounting to Rs. 19 crore and another aid of Rs. 50 crore would be released soon. The state government has committed that no dearth of funds would be allowed to hamper the development projects in the city.

Punjab government has asked the municipal councillors of the city to send development proposals of their wards to the MC Commissioner so as to meticulously chalk out the strategy for overall development of the city. With the objective of creating SAS nagar as an IT hub of India, the state government is aiming at the creation of one lakh jobs in the next five years which will be a great boost for the youth of Punjab and nearby states.

In next four years, the state government will develop the International airport in the city as the cargo hub of north India, which will act as a catalyst in the development of the city and result in creation of more employment avenues for the youth of the region. In order to make youth of the region more skilled Punjab government has sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for the skill development centre which will be jointly setup by the Mohali industries association (MIA). 

With Punjab government’s initiative of developing and creating industrial friendly environment in the state, soon it will emerge as the leader in growth and progress of the overall nation.

Punjab Government – Procuring every grain of paddy

paddy1With the beginning of kharif season 2015-16, Punjab government has started the procurement of paddy from the markets. The state government has stated that it is determined to purchase and lift every grain of paddy from markets across the state. Till 7th October 2015, 4.81L MT of paddy has been procured, wherein, government agencies procured 4.23L MT for central pool and the private traders procured 57,940 MT of paddy.

Punjab government has directed the procurement agencies to ensure the procurement of paddy at minimum support price. Orders for immediate lifting of the procured crop have also been issued. The paddy procured by different agencies would be stored in the various ware house grain stores. The state government has completed all the arrangements to store the crop. Also the incoming variety of paddy would be procured without any delay in coming days. Punjab government has directed senior officials to visit mandis in every part of the state to make sure that the farmer’s interests will be protected at all costs. All concerned officers are directed to ensure their presence in the mandis till the end of procurement operations every day so that farmers should not face any problem.

Punjab government has issued detailed guidelines to execute smooth and hassle free procurement operations. Necessary arrangements have also been made in all the 1806 purchase centers of the state to ensure smooth procurement procedure. In order to facilitate farmers during the ongoing kharif season, Punjab government has launched a helpline in the directorate of food and civil supplies at Chandigarh. The helpline numbers are 0172-2702120, 0172-2703535 and 0172 -2702356 and e-mail id helplinefoodsupply.pb@gmail.com. The helpline has been set up aiming at providing instant relief to the farmers if facing any difficulty during the procurement season. The helpline would be functional from morning 8 a.m. till 11 p.m. at night and anybody including the farmers, commission agent, Sheller owner, transporter, labour or even amongst public could contact and register their grievances and suggestion regarding the paddy procurement process on this helpline. The entire procurement process is being monitored online. A special grievances cell has also been set up which would look into the grievances of the people relating to the paddy procurement and resolve the issues instantaneously.
